FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
