Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Honors.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Year of Dominance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Historic Statistics
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and picked up a record £11m in prize money.
She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
